| SCREEN
PRINTING is the process
for smaller quantities and the highest quality graphics. Screened
graphics are very sharp and crisp, with good ink opacity and even
the ability to overprint multiple colors to solve registration
problems in some art. Normal production time is 5 working
days. One disadvantage of the screen process is that each
color is printed and re-registered one at a time when printing
multiple colors, making them more costly than offset printing. |
OFFSET
PRINTING offers an economical
way of printing larger quantities and up to 4 colors of imprint
on one pass. Even though offset printing on napkins is limited
to white napkins, offset inks have good opacity on white napkins.
The quality of offset printing is sometimes less than the quality
of the screen process. Dot gain in halftones may reach as high
as 20%. Butt registration is allowed, but trapping is not allowed.
